A Contractor's Must-Have


Today, I want to share with you an amazing software that is a great (and affordable!) investment for businesses with employees who are constantly working on location - think home and building service companies like building contractors, electricians, painters, plumbers, oil & gas service companies, in-home health care, landscaping & lawn care, house cleaners, HVAC contractors, etc… The list goes on and on and I am sure you can think of many more!


The software I want to tell you about is T Sheets. T Sheets is a employee tracking software that allows employees to track their time by location using an app on their phone. You can also schedule your employees through the app so that they know where they need to be each day. And you can pull customizable reports on a regular basis, allowing you to have more insight on how many hours your employees are working and where.



Some of the key features and benefits of T Sheets include:


Managing Employees: With TSheet's GPS feature you'll be able to see where your employees are throughout the day. Their photo will show up on a map and update in real time as they move between locations. If there is an emergency job request, you'll be able to look at the map and send the closest employee to the job location!


Time-Tracking and Payroll: The app encourages employees to track and submit their time in an accurate manner. Gone are the days of writing timesheets on paper napkins. And once your administrative office receives the timesheets, they can review and approve them before they go on to payroll. AND you can even integrate T Sheets with most payroll systems and bookkeeping softwares, making admin processes seamless and efficient.


Billing Customers: With employees being able to track time by project and location, you can pull reports directly from T Sheets and use them to bill your customers on a timely basis. And if there are ever issues with a customer bill, you have the electronic trail to go back and make sure time was tracked correctly.


I have implemented T Sheets for a few small businesses and can tell you that it is DEFINITELY a time and resource saver. The businesses I've worked with have cut down on administrative costs and increased their employee utilization. At $16/month, plus $4/month per user (but a 20% discount if you pay for the whole year at once), this is one of the best business investments you’ll make. And I’m not even being paid by T Sheets to say this :)!
